General Information

  • How do I submit a ticket?
You need to go here http://www.wowstead.com/tickets.php and click "Create a  Ticket".

    Ticket Etiquettes:
    • Submit only one per issue.  Multiple submission will only slow the process down or piss off the ticket master.  If new information arises update the information by adding it using the "Quick Reply."
    • Mark tickets correctly.  Even if you think your issue is "Urgent" it may not be.  Please think about the issue and it's real level of importance.
    • Use proper grammar.  L33T speak is often times hard to read.  Take your time to write out the ticket.
    • Post important information that maybe needed to correct your issue (ie link to the issue, Character Name, etc.).
    • Be patiant.  There is one person who answers the tickets.  He get 500+ a day.  He also fixes bugs, works on modules, works on the servers, answers the forums, and has a personal life.  He will get to your ticket usually within 24-48 hours.
    • Take the time to look through the forums for your answer.  Many times it's been answered already on either the main forums or Area52.  Use the search feature as well and manually weeding through.  It gets old answering the same question over and over because people won't take 5 minutes to look.
    • When seaching the forums do more than one search if the first ones don't return your answer.

Site Information

  • How can I see who is verified on my guild site?
  • How do I block an exMember from our restrict site?
When WoW Armory up dates and he/she shows to no longer be in your guild they will also be removed from your roster, taking away any access to rank restricted sections of your site.

If the person is causing some issues and you need to remove them sooner.
    refer to: http://area52.wowstead.com/forums/thread/105
  • How do I change/Add ranks to my Guild?
WowStead ranks reflect those that show up on Wow Armory.  These are ranks from in game.  So to add or change ranks you need to do so in game and this may take a day or to to reflect on the WoW Armory.
    1. Make sure there is at least one (1) character over level 10 in the rank.
    2. Go to the "Guild Ranks" on your admin panel.
    3. You may need to do a "Force Update" located in the "Roster" area of your admin panel.
    4. Once you have the correct number of slots you can name them to reflect your ingame ranks.  ( note: 0 - Guild Leader. 1 - Asst. Guild Leader)
  • How do I set up a widget?
    refer to: http://area52.wowstead.com/forums/thread/75

If you are trying to set a preconfigured widget and it's not on the drop down make sure it is checked in the "Active Modules" section of the Admin Panel > Site Settings.

If you don't see any widgets make sure you are using a template that allows widgets.  Nexus has one Navbar, 3Columns have two Navbars, Blitz have none.
  • How do I sticky/lock/delete/move a post?
  • My center content goes under my right nav. How can I fix this?
You have something in the content that is way too large and not allowing the section to scale back down for lower resolution monitors.
    • Check News Articles and Welcome message for tables that have specific widths and set them to 100%.
    • If you have large images use the following guide [LINK].
    • Make sure there isn't a long line of text that isn't broken.
    • Never copy and paste things from Microsoft Word.
  • Our guild is realm jumping/merdging with another and we want to keep the site. How can we?
You can change the URL and Page Title yourself through the Admin Panel > Site Settings.

To have the rest of the information changed you'll need to do the follow (make sure the new guild is showing on WoW Armory first).

Submit a ticket and include the following information:
    • Old Guild Name
    • Old Guild URL
    • Old Guild Realm
    • New Guild Name
    • New Guild URL
    • New Guild Realm
    • Guild Site's Main Admin
  • We have no admin for our site and can't make a new one. What do we do?
Submit a ticket with the following information.
    • Guild Name
    • Guild URL
    • Guild Realm
    • Who premissions should go to
  • WowStead should consider adding _________ to the site. How can I ask them?
First check to see if it's already on the list.
    refer to: http://area52.wowstead.com/forums/thread/195

If it isn't you can make a request on the main WowStead site under the appropriate forum.

widgets and custom contents

  • How do I add music to my site?
  • How do I get a recruiting widget on my site?
  • How do I put videos on a page?
Best is to use s custom content.

    refer to: http://area52.wowstead.com/forums/thread/83
  • I only see coding on my Custom Content/Widget. Why?
Did you hit the HTML button in the tool bar and pasted/typed the coding into the new window that pops up or did you just paste/typed into the main section?

    refer to: http://area52.wowstead.com/forums/thread/176
  • My code I put into the editor doesn't stay put when I go to reedit it?
    Are you using Internet Explorer?
    Yes, update to Firefox.

No, use a third party program (like Kompozer) edit the coding in that then copy and paste it into the custom content's editor.  This way you can save your files to refer back to at later times.
